Food rescue

Surplus becomes a meal, not a bin.

You made good food today. Some of it is still safe to eat. Food Rescue helps you list it, find an NGO, and record the pickup — instead of throwing it away.

  1. List surplus
  2. Claim
  3. Pickup

Turn surplus into community meals.

In plain words

Good food should not end in the bin.

At the end of a service day, many restaurants have extra portions — rice, curries, breads, packaged items — that are still fit to eat but will not be sold tomorrow.

Food Rescue is a screen inside RizzEat. The manager lists that surplus in a few taps. Your team can see what is available. An NGO can claim it. When someone picks it up, it stays on the record.

No separate app. No WhatsApp chain. It lives in the same system you already use for orders, staff, and billing.

How it works

Four steps. No extra app.

  1. 01Manager lists surplus

After service, open Food Rescue on the manager panel. Add what you have — item name, quantity, best-before, and notes. It goes live as a donation listing.

  2. 02NGO sees and claims

Partner NGOs browse available listings. When they can collect, they claim it against that listing. Everyone sees the same status — available or claimed.

  3. 03Pickup is recorded

When the food leaves your outlet, mark the pickup done. The listing moves to history. You have a clear record of what went out and when.

  4. 04Impact adds up

The panel tracks meals saved and rough environmental impact — CO₂, water, landfill — using the same simple factors shown on screen. Useful for your own reporting, not just a feel-good number.

What you see on the panel

The same screen on your manager desk.

Meals saved, active NGOs, pickups today, and charts for the last few months — plus search and filters so you can find any listing quickly.

Who does what

Everyone sees the same truth.

  • Restaurant manager

Create a new donation, see active and past listings, search by code or item, and close the loop when pickup happens. Built for the last hour of the night, not a separate chore.

  • RizzEat superadmin

See every listing across outlets, manage the NGO list, claim or assign pickups, and read the same stats the restaurant sees — one desk for the whole network.

  • NGO partner

Find food that is actually available near them, claim what they can collect, and show up knowing quantity and timing — less back-and-forth, less waste.

Why it matters

Less waste. A clear record. One system.

  • Less waste at close — surplus becomes a meal someone can use.
  • A proper record — who listed it, who claimed it, when it was picked up.
  • Same login as your POS — no extra software to learn.
  • Stats you can show — meals saved and estimated impact, right on the panel.
  • Works for one outlet or a whole brand — superadmin sees the full picture.
Yearly model — not a live total

If an outlet lists surplus 4 nights a week, 8 portions a night, 50 weeks — that is 1,600 meals in a year. Scale it. Same factors the Food Rescue screen already uses.

  • Meals rescuedmeals
  • CO₂ preventedkg
  • Water savedL
  • Landfill divertedkg

Per meal, as the panel prints it: ≈0.7 kg CO₂, ≈140 L water, ≈0.3 kg landfill. A listing still has to be lawful and fit to give away.
